Conveyor belt splicing is the process of joining together two pieces of conveyor belt. Usually, this is done to either elongate the original conveyor belt or to repair a torn or damaged conveyor belt.

Because there are so many industries in which conveyor systems are employed, there are many types of conveyor belts and components. In order to correctly splice a belt, the type of belt, speed of conveyor belt system, materials traveling on the belt and conveyor belt environment must be taken into account. A conveyor belt splice is important in relation to the productivity of the belt.

TECHNO CAST provides Splicing & Vulcanizing Services as well as Repairs of Conveyor Belts.

We have many years of experience in this field , dealing with various types of conveyor belts for a variety of applications

Hot Splicing - Vulcanization

Hot vulcanization

Hot Vulcanization creates a splice by using heat and chemicals. This mode of splicing is more involved and requires special tools, expertise, and a clean, temperature- and moisture-controlled environment. If done correctly, however, this type of splice is smoother and typically more durable than a mechanical splice. Hot vulcanization creates splices by using heat and pressure through use of a vulcanizing press

We have several high-tech vulcanizing presses with dimensions up to 2400 mm (belt width) and up to 2000 mm (length of the junction).

TECHNO CAST can perform hot vulcanizing on conveyor belts with textile and metal carcasses.

Cold Splicing - Gluing

Cold Vulcanizing (Gluing):

Cold vulcanization creates a splice through use of chemicals that bond two pieces of belt.

TECHNO CAST technical teams only use premium quality adhesives from renowned brands with excellent bonding properties.

We have a warehouse that complies with the storage rules for perishable products such as uncured rubber, glues and rubber-gums.

Mechanical Joints - with Clips

Mechanical joints (with clips):

Mechanical splicing is a versatile solution because it can be done in many different environments and on many types of belts. It is typically used in applications in which belts go through lots of wear and tear or need to be continuously expanded, or on belts in dirty, high-moisture environments or cramped spaces. These applications include mining, quarry and other heavy-duty applications.

Mechanical splicing  with clips is also used as a quick troubleshooting/repair solution.

We use the Flexco (USA) brand of staples to make the mechanical joints. We are able to define with you the appropriate type of staples for your application.
